1. What is the Young Achiever Program?
A: The young achiever program was created by the International Leadership Network to encourage student leaders by recognizing and applauding their positive leadership, achievement, and service in the community. Students receive recognition and monetary awards.
2. Who nominated my child for this program?
A: Nominations are submitted by teachers, counselors, and school administrators. Parents can also submit nominations.
3. How do the teachers decide who to nominate?
A: The guidelines for being selected as a Young Achiever are based on criteria outlined by the International Leadership Network.
4. What type of recognition do they receive?
A: Students that meet the criteria to become Young Achiever are honored at a special ceremony where they receive certificates. They are also showcased in a photographic display highlighting their achievements.
5. Is there any obligation on mine, or my child’s part, to participate in this program?
A: Yes. The student must complete a resume of their achievements, their parent must give consent for them to participate, and they need to be photographed for the showcase display by a specific date to be determined by the photographer. If selected they must participate in the interview process in order to receive medallions and monetary awards.
6. When will I find out if my child is selected to be interviewed as a potential scholarship recipient?
A: You will be notified if your child is selected.
A: Once details of the ceremony are confirmed, you will be notified by mail. Details will also be posted on the website.
8. Where do I go to have my child’s photographs taken?
A: Warwick Photography has graciously volunteered to honor your Young Achiever with a photographic showcase display. You may call them at 314-961-8700 to schedule your son or daughter’s photography session, or you will be contacted by Warwick Photography to schedule an appointment. Their studio is open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
The studio is located at 1750 S. Brentwood Boulevard, Suite 265. Please call the studio if you need directions, we are happy to help! To view and pick up your child’s photographs, please go to Suite 209.
9. What should my child bring to his or her photography session?
A: Please accompany your child to their photography session. They need to bring two outfits and come dressed in the first outfit and ready to be photographed. They can also bring props relating to their school and community activities, such as books, t-shirts, sports items, pets, etc.
Prior to their photo session, you need to email your child’s biographical sketch to studio@warwickphotography.com. It will appear on their display panel exactly as you type it, so please make sure it is correct and free of spelling/grammar errors. At this time we can only accept biographical sketches via email.
10. When and where will the photographic showcase display take place?
A: The photographic showcase display will take place at the St. Louis Galleria from June 17th through July 15th and each child’s display panel will be posted for one week. Once details are confirmed, a list of names for each week will be posted on our website. Please check the website for details before calling the studio or the International Leadership Network as they will be unable to give you information. We will post this information on our website as soon as it is available.
11. Can I purchase photographs taken of my child from their photography session? Can I purchase their display panel?
A: Yes. Most parents purchase their child’s display panel and photographs from their session as this is an admirable achievement in their child’s life and a milestone well worth documenting.
